Solanum lanceolatum Cav. (Solanaceae) is a species native to Central America (Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Panama), that has been found naturalized near Sutera and Porto Empedocle (Sicily). This is the first record in Italy and Europe.

On the finding of Centaurea diluta (Compositae) exotic naturalized in Calabria - The occurrence in Calabria (S-Italy) of Centaurea diluta Aiton, a dangerous alien invasive species of cereals crops and waste grounds, is here reported for the first time. New data are added about the alien status in Italy.

Inventory of the non‐native flora of Italy

In this paper we present a comprehensive inventory of the non‐native vascular flora of Italy, which was produced within the project “A survey of the Italian non‐native flora”, funded by the Italian Ministry for the Environment. Previously published floristic accounts were the main source of information. Historical records were critically revised and integrated with recent literature, data from herbaria and some unpublished information, so as to obtain a complete, up‐to‐date catalogue of the non‐native vascular plant species that occur spontaneously in Italy.
